SCHEDULE OF SERVICES
The contractor shall furnish all personnel to provide services necessary to perform onsite Clinical Inpatient/Outpatient Document Integrity Services to eligible beneficiaries of the Department of Veterans Affairs Lt. Col. Luke Weathers, Jr. VA Medical Center (hereinafter referred to as VAMC). The contractors CDIS(s) services shall cover the range of clinical documentary services as would be provided in a state-of-the-art civilian medical treatment facility and the standard of care shall be of a quality, meeting or exceeding currently recognized national standards as established by The American Nurse Guidelines
One (1) Registered Nurse, license independent provider in hospital setting and two years' work CDI experiences as a minimum. Certifications obtained from American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) and/or American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) and/or Association of Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialists (ACDIS). the RN shall serve as the Registered Nurse Advisor (CDI RNA). CDI RNA supports CDI activities by applying the nursing process to data gathered by the CDI team, reviewing it for clinical validation, trends, opportunities for improvement, and communicating this information back to the CDI team, providers, and other departments as appropriate.
The Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialist (CDIS) is a registered nurse (RN) accountable for using a variety of collaborative strategies with Physicians, Clinical Documentation multidisciplinary team members, Facility Revenue Management team, and Health Information Management (HIM) staff. Nursing Advisor with knowledge, skillsets, and experience of extensive interaction with physicians, other patient caregivers and Facility HIMS coding staff and Revenue Utilization Review Team to ensure clinical documentation and services rendered to patients is complete and accurate. Ensures the accuracy and completeness of clinical information used for measuring and reporting physician and medical center outcomes with continuing education to all members of the patient care team on an ongoing basis. Collaboratively works with the professional clinical staff and provides support and education on documentation issues. Their responsibility is to maximize third party collections and document the delivery of quality patient care services.
Licensures: The CDIS specialists assigned by the contractor to perform the inpatient/outpatient services covered by this contract shall have a current license to practice medicine in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia when services are performed onsite on VA property. All licenses held by the key personnel working on this contract shall be full and unrestricted licenses. Inpatient and outpatient's CDIS who have current, full and unrestricted licenses in one or more states, but who have, or ever had, a license restricted, suspended, revoked, voluntarily revoked, voluntarily surrendered pending action or denied upon application will not be considered for the purposes of this contract.
Board Certification: Both CDIS specialists shall be certified by the accrediting organizations with focus on AHIMA and American Academy of Professional Coders, or in addition to Health Information Management Certifications a licensed Registered Nurse or a foreign MD with board certification from the country they obtained the license. All continuing education courses required for maintaining certification must be always kept up to date. Documentation verifying current certification shall be provided by the CDI specialists to the VA COR on an annual basis for each year of contract performance.
Technical Proficiency: CDIS specialists shall be technically proficient in the skills necessary to fulfill the government's requirements, including the ability to speak, understand, read and write English fluently. CDIS specialists shall provide all documentation upon request of the CO/COR to verify current and ongoing competency, skills, certification and/or licensure related to the provision of care, treatment and/or services performed. CDI specialists shall provide verifiable evidence of all educational and training experiences including any gaps in educational history for both specialists. CDIS specialists shall be responsible for abiding by the VA Facility Medical Staff By-Laws, rules, and regulations (referenced herein) that govern the medical staff behavior.

Job Summary
