Specialized skills for Labor Delivery/LDPN include: (1) ability to provide the nursing process for low risk and high risk antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients; (2) ability to scrub and circulate in the Operating Room for cesarean sections and other surgeries related to OB care; (3) ability to provide recovery room care to patients undergoing surgery related to OB care; (4) ability to provide routine care to the healthy newborn; (5) ability to institute resuscitation to a compromised newborn. Perform Lab testing as assigned based on protocol of each test, documenting results and communicating critical as defined. Complete competency as required. Follow lab testing safety guidelines, maintenance and QC completion/documentation, and proficiency testing as assigned.
