The Clinical Dietitian III provides Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) to patients with complex medical conditions in inpatient and outpatient hospital settings. The primary responsibility of this role include:
- Coordinate clinical responsibilities to distribute workload among team members. Assumes some responsibility for the training and development of the professional clinical dietetics staff. Coordinates nutritional aspects of patient's care with physicians and health care personnel. Utilizes the Nutrition Care Process to document in the medical record. MNT resource professional for Level I and II dietitians.
- Conducts quality improvement activities as well as performance improvement monitoring and provides feedback to dietitians and other staff. Participates in performance evaluation of co-workers. Performs performance appraisals of dietitians at Level I and II. Precepts and evaluates interns independently. Helps students to apply knowledge and skills. Mentor to Level I and II dietitians. Develops learning experiences and assignments in area of clinical expertise for the dietetic interns.
- Serves on committees in the Food and Nutrition Department and on hospital-wide or system-wide committees. Coordinates appropriate implementation of cultural, religious, ethnic preferences or medical requirements with FNS. Possesses and utilizes accurate knowledge of food safety and sanitation. Makes appropriate use of available education materials. Participates in development and evaluation of patient education materials. Revises and updates patient education materials. Resource to FNS staff; may evaluate and make recommendation regarding nutritional products and supplies.
- Provides care without supervision; support care provided by dietitians at Levels I and II. Demonstrates advanced practice competency. Regularly assumes responsibility for more complex patients. Assesses, develops, implements and evaluates nutrition care plan for patients using the Nutrition Care Process. Able to identify and provide nutrition diagnosis and intervention for malnutrition. Provides training and guidance for dietetic interns and dietitians in physical assessment of patients. Provides nutrition counseling to patients and caregivers based on identified needs.
- Assures continuity of care through effective decision making resulting in quality patient care. Develops protocol or patient care guidelines for area(s) of specialization. Initiates development of Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) portfolio to reflect professional and career goals.
- Effectively applies or participates in evidence-based research to enhance practice. Participates in medical rounds, discharge planning and patient care conferences as appropriate for the clinical assignment. Participates in Quality Improvement activities on clinical units to improve patient satisfaction scores.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Food and Nutrition or Dietetics.
- Registered with the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
- Maintains a specialty certification from an approved nutrition related area OR has a Master's degree in Nutrition, or Dietetics or related field.
- Three years of experience as a dietitian in a clinical setting.
- Licensed as a dietitian in the State of Georgia.
- Must maintain competency in adult and geriatric nutrition. Competent in basic computer skills, including diet management software.

- Ensures documentation is complete and accurate regarding all aspects of patient care.
- Responsible for proper operation of imaging and specialty equipment as well as keeps abreast of uses of medical devices.
- Demonstrates an adequate knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Provides more complex technical care necessary to meet identified patient needs.
- Assists with performing multiple diagnostic procedures in appropriate sequence and time frame. Provides quality care to patients during procedures; prepares patients for procedures with proper sterile technique.
- Takes precautions to minimize patient and staff exposure to radiation.
- Assists with patient and family education.
- May support or assist in research and related activities.
- Assists in training radiology staff and students.
- Performs other related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology.
- Must have a minimum of two (2) years experience with one (1) year in IR.
- Advanced certification in Vascular Interventional (VI) Radiography preferred.
- BLS certification required.

- Under general supervision, evaluates and implements the care of adult and geriatric patients undergoing mammography and breast related invasive procedures.
- Assesses assigned patients' needs by reviewing the radiology request, the patient's medical history, admitting diagnosis, and physician's orders.
- Assesses the patient's physical needs, evaluates diagnostic data, and interviews the patient and family.
- Prioritizes imaging needs for an assigned group of patients. Collaborates with other members of the health team to determine patient care priorities.
- Assists in identifying complex patient problems related to symptoms, behavioral changes, and abnormal diagnostic data.
- Evaluates patient's response of procedural care delivery. Practices radiation protection techniques.
- Takes precautions to minimize patient and staff exposure to x-radiation. Notifies supervisor of safety issues as they occur.
- Assures continuity and quality of care through effective decision-making and continuous patient assessment.

- Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology and registered with the ARRT.

Occupational Therapists provide comprehensive evaluations and testing, occupational therapy treatments, and education to seriously ill patients or those having complex medical problems and families which are consistent with patient's individualized needs and carried out within an interdisciplinary environment.

- Responds to request for professional information or advice and refers more complex matters to the appropriate staff.
- Assists the department in maintaining a clear and accurate interdisciplinary and interdepartmental information flow.
- Participates in committees addressing patient care related matters or other committees as requested by the department.
- May support and participate in research activities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an American Occupational Therapy Association accredited program.
- Current licensure in the state of Georgia from the American Occupational Therapy Association.
- Must have and maintain NBCOT certification.
- At least one year of relevant experience.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association required.

- Provides quality care to patients during procedures. Assists with patient and family education. May support or assist in research and related activities.
- Demonstrates an adequate knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and physiology. Provides more complex technical care necessary to meet identified patient needs.
- Assists with performing and planning multiple diagnostic procedures in appropriate time sequence.
- Acts as a resource for students and junior technologists. Completes procedures in Radiology Information System to ensure billing of exams/procedure.
- Prepares billing sheet and submits per guidelines. Responsible for completing all aspects of patient care documentation as required in imaging services.

- Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology and at a minimum be registered with the ARRT.
